BharatKhelo (the “App”, available at bharatkhelo.com and on mobile) is operated by Golden League (“Golden League”, “BharatKhelo”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, where it is stored and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy and consent to the processing of your information as described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: mobile phone number, name, email address (if you sign in with Google), profile photo and password/OTP verification data.
- Profile and sports information: date of birth, gender, address or district, sports played, playing level, achievements, awards, certifications, height, weight, bio and social media links you choose to add.
- Academy, organization and event data: academies, sports bodies, batches, sessions, attendance, event registrations, teams and results you create or take part in.
- Identity and registration documents: identity proofs, licence or membership documents and other files you upload for verification or registration.
- Photos, videos, posts and messages: media you upload to profiles, galleries and posts, comments and reviews you write, and messages you send in in-app chat.
- Location: the location you enter, or, with your permission, your device location to show nearby academies and events.
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, browser, IP address, app version, notification tokens, log and error data.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify your phone number with a one-time password (OTP).
- To provide the App: profiles, discovery of athletes, coaches, academies and organizations, registrations, events, chat and notifications.
- To let academies, organizations and event organisers manage members, registrations, licences and results.
- To send service messages such as OTPs, invitations, approvals and reminders.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, keep the App secure, fix problems and improve features.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who can see your information
Profile information you add to your public profile (such as name, photo, sports and achievements) may be visible to other users of the App. Registration and verification details are visible to the academy, organization or event organiser you submit them to. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Public content, comments and what other users do
Posts, comments, reviews, photos and other content you make public can be seen, copied and shared by others, including outside the App. Please think before you share. Comments, reviews and other content are posted by users, and the views and language in them are the users’ own, not those of Golden League or BharatKhelo. We are not responsible for user content or for how other users, academies or organizations use information you choose to share with them.
5. Service providers we share data with
We use trusted third parties that process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the App:
- Google Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In and Google reCAPTCHA – login, phone verification and abuse protection.
- Google Maps – maps and location selection.
- SMS service providers – delivery of OTP and notification messages.
- Cloud hosting and storage providers – storing the App’s database and uploaded media.
- Payment providers – where paid features or event fees are offered, payments are handled by the provider; we do not store your card or bank details.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the App.
6. Where your data is stored
Our application servers and database are hosted in India. Files you upload, such as photos, videos and documents, are stored with our cloud storage provider, whose servers may be located outside India. Some third-party services we use, such as Google Firebase, may also process data outside India. By using the App you consent to your information being stored and processed in these locations, subject to applicable Indian law.
7. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the App, meet legal or record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our terms. Records that organizations must retain for membership, licensing or event results may be kept for longer.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit most of your information from your profile and settings in the App.
- You can request access, correction or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected] from your registered email or phone. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable Indian law.
- You can turn off location and notification permissions in your device or browser settings.
9. Security and limits of responsibility
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Golden League and BharatKhelo are not liable for loss or harm resulting from unauthorized access, disclosure or misuse that we could not reasonably have prevented, or from information you choose to make public or share with others. Our liability is further limited as set out in our Terms of Service.
10. Children
Many athletes are under 18. Users under 18 should use the App with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who may contact us at the address below to review or delete the child’s information. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be notified in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
